If you don't trust the content of certain websites and would prefer not to download any content without first knowing exactly what it contains, you should take a look at Web Archives Viewer. This plug-in for Internet Explorer allows you to search the content of any ZIP or RAR files before downloading them.

You just have to right-click on the download link and select the option 'Open in Web Archive Viewer' from the contextual menu.

Web Archives Viewer then opens a pop-up from where you can go through the compressed data file by file. Also, if there are various files in the ZIP/RAR, you can expand or nest the documents for a more organised view.

Requirements (Latest version)

Might not work correctly with very large files. Only compatable with Internet Explorer.
